I know it’s been a while since my last post. It’s time for me to start using my WordPress again because I was just charged my annual fee. UGH. So much has gone on in the past few months. Writing my blog was the last thing on my mind.

There is a lot to catch everyone up on.

We got to Florida at the end of October 2024. We were back at Oak Alley.

I workcamped again at Oak Alley. My hours were increased from 26 a week to 36 a week. Activities were decreased so I was kinda bored. Having to put in more hours with less work was ridiculous. I spent my work days sitting in the Activity Office watching the clock tick tock each minute. I was tired of working. I wanted to fully retire.

I was an Assistant Activity Director and reported to Ashley. Ashley had a party for me the day I left. Yes, I left Oak Alley.

Before we left Oak Alley, my sister, nieces, and great nieces/nephews came to Florida for our annual Thanksgiving long weekend at Clearwater Beach. This time, we stayed at the Hilton.

My family brought chily weather with them but we still enjoyed the pool and other activities. As always, we had a great, fun time.

We had a few things to do before we left Oak Alley. I had to tell the manager of Oak Alley we were leaving. I had to tell Ashley we were leaving We had to sell our shed. We could not advertise our shed until we notified the manager and Ashley. At Oak Alley, when someone advertised a shed for sale, people just took it for granted the seller was leaving. People at the park did not want me to leave. I was swamped with friends saying how much they will miss me, especially because of my working in Activities.

I made a lot of friends at Oak Alley. I miss them all. But I have to admit, I love not working anymore. I love being able to do what I want when I want. Or not doing anything at all.

Back in November of 2023, we bought a shed. We got a really good price for it. We filled it up with stuff.

When we had to sell it, our only option was to rent a U-Haul and take the shed contents down to our new manufactured mobile home in Fort Pierce. Yes, we now have a manufactured mobile home in a community called Spanish Lakes Fairway.

The shed was really filled with good stuff and also filled with crap. Guess where we put everything when we got to our MFG home in Fort Pierce?

We had a beautiful Lanai. Now it is filled with stuff from our shed. It was back in November 2024 when we loaded the lanai with shed stuff. It is now Febuary 15, 2025 and the lanai is still filled with stuff from our shed plus stuff we bought after moving in here.

Here is the information about our manufactured mobile home. We had an opportunity to get a Manufactured mobile home in Fort Pierce which we took full advantage of. Fort Pierce is 2.5 hours southeast of Oak Alley. On December 11, 2024, we left Oak Alley and moved into our new home.

We live in a community with two swimming pools, stuff like golf, pickleball, shuffleboard, bocce all for free. There are a ton of activities. I play Mahjong and Euchre. I’ve been to the pool several times. There are days where I am happy doing nothing.

Guess What??? We have Palm Trees.

Here are some pictures of our new winter home. We have two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a Kitchen, dining area and huge living room. We have a washer, dryer, and dishwasher. The home came fully furnished. We did have to buy TVs, a TV stand with an electric fireplace and we replaced our couch.

We will spend winters in our new home in Fort Pierce Florida and summers back in our very comfortable campground that is 10 minutes from our families up in Ohio. We will keep our 5th wheel at Chestnut Ridge all year after we take it back north in May.

Currently, it is in a storage facility ten miles from our Fort Pierce home.

Our pups love their new winter home. They have a lot of room to run around in.

We have a very good groomer that is a mobile groomer. He parks on the road in our front yard and does such a good job with our pups. I feel much more comfortable not having to drop them off at a groomer and pick them up hours later.

My sister and her husband came down to Port St Lucie (a half hour away) and spent some time with me on my birthday. We minature golfed, spent some time at Jetty beach, went to a nice restaurant for dinner and the next day, went to a nice restaurant for lunch.

Whatever tomorrow brings, take heart—God is already there. His mercies are new every morning, His grace is abundant, and His love never fails. Stay safe, be Kind and enjoy life.

Sweet Audrey passed away in October two days before we left to head south.

RIP Audrey.
