44 Days Until We Head North

March 15, 2024

I can’t believe how fast time is flying by. I wish the days would slow down. I think the older we get, the faster time goes by. My days go by quickly because I stay busy. If I am not working in the Activity Office and helping out with event, I am busy at my site. For example, the other day, I changed four batteries in one of our scooters.

This is Hubby’s scooter. It takes four thin but heavy batteries.

I had to remove the seat first. After I removed the seat, I had to remove the trunk container. Once the trunk container was removed, I could get to the four batteries, First thing i did was label the wires before I removed them. Hubby helped me remove the old batteries and he helped put in the new ones. I took over after that and connected the wires to the batteries. Hubby helped me put everything back together. I turned on the key and EVERYTHING WORKED.

I amazed myself. Hubby has a bad back so it would have been hard for him to bend over to do all of the connecting of the wires. It took me a quite while to connect the wires. Hubby was proud of me.

My camp worker job as an Assistant Activity Director is so much fun. I call the Activity Office my happy place. It keeps me very busy. We have a calendar full of activities and entertainment events. Not only do we have a calendar full of activities and events, there are many residents that hold weekly activities such as crafts, card games, Mexican train games and much more.

We are what is called 6/6 residents. Our site is ours for a whole year and if we wanted to, we could keep our RV on our site for the whole year, but Hubby and I could only be on site for 183 days a year. On April 28, we will leave here and head North.

Since the site is ours for a whole year, we bought a shed. Every summer, we rented a storage unit. This summer, we will put our scooters in the shed. It is an 8×10 shed and we got a great deal on it. It was a repo.

My next post will be about our travel North in 44 days.

May the light of faith guide your journey. Thank you for being a part of mine. I look forward to sharing more with you in future posts. God Bless and Stay Safe!
